Growing up reading Biggles books, it’s hard not to be charmed by this event… That it is the International Watch Company with it’s long tradition of pilot’s watches, makes it even better!
The British Royal Air Force, RAF had several brands making watches according to the Mark 11 specification, but I think the most common and well-known is the IWC version.

Would have loved to see one of the IWC Mk 11 on the pilot’s wrists…
