For Midsummer I thought I would share with you all a special treat: the Jaeger-LeCoultre reference E 857 Deep Sea Alarm!
Not any of the Tribute To… Not the LeCoultre E 857…
The even more scarce Jaeger-LeCoultre version of the E 857 Deep Sea Alarm!
Yes, the original E 857 Deep Sea Alarm is a rare bird, regardless if it is the European Jaeger-LeCoultre or the North American LeCoultre version.
But based on the number of Deep Sea Alarm watches that has surfaced during the past 15-20 years, I would say that maximum only one out of seven is the Jaeger-LeCoultre version, maybe even less…

Not only is the Jaeger-LeCoultre version hard to find, documents with the Jaeger-LeCoultre version is even harder to find!
Here is one of the few known documents regarding the E 857 within the collectors community. This document from 1960, I found back in 2011. Illustrating the Jaeger-LeCoultre E 857 on a steel flexi strap, typical for the time.

Fun story is that since then I haven’t seen another original document showing the Jaeger-LeCoultre version, but in 2016 I found a second copy of the same document!
BTW, if you haven’t figured that out by now, all documents shown here in my blog are documents I have in original paper version.
Watch documents, another theme you can lose yourself in…
Happy Midsummer!
