When Jaeger-LeCoultre launched the Polaris Date Limited Edition with blue dial I gave you my first thoughts about this…
You can read about it here: read more.
Last week at the Watchout Event 2019 I finally had the chance to see this watch in the metal… Now I am ready to give you my second thoughts about this watch..!
From the press pics, this watch looks deep blue in tone, but seeing it live is another story…
Yes, the dial is deep blue – but also blue, light blue and turquoise! The fume dial effect depending on angle and light is very alluring…
It makes you focus 100% on the dial…
It makes you forget about the wider lugs and the square crowns… It even makes you forget about the missing crown and that the central part of the dial do not rotate due to that!

Not only depending on angle and light, the colour of the dial changes depending on the surrounding…
Here, alone in the dark, the dial looks more turquoise than blue…

But next to the LeCoultre Polaris T.W.O, the blue appears!

And even more so between the two original Polaris, E 870 to the left and E 859 to the right.
I think this shot very much describes my initial thoughts regarding this watch…

On the wrist the dial really “pops”! In the beginning it’s a whisper… But the longer you look, the stronger the voice becomes – “All eyes on me”!

To be honest, it’s easy to forget that it is a Polaris that you are looking at… Anything outside the rotating bezel is a blur…

Now my thoughts – this watch is all about the dial.
Either you love it or hate it… Compared to the regular version of the Polaris Date with black dial, this blue dial version is a completely different experience!
The black dial is a… more like a Polaris…. The blue dial is mesmerising in new and different way… Love it!
Based on this, I would not be surprised if a burgundy red and/or a grey fume dial would be released in a near future!
Big thank you goes out to Nymans Ur, Krons and the Jaeger-LeCoultre team for letting me loose myself in this blue dial!
By the way, I realise that I haven’t given you my thoughts on the regular version of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date – yet… Stay tuned, I will get back to you on that!
