As I already pointed out in some of my posts, the connection between Omega and Tissot were much more evident in the past…
Today both are branded and promoted as independent brands (not independent watchmakers) even if its not a big secret that both brands belongs to the Swatch Group.
Within the group, the T.W.O brands covers different customer segments.
Earlier, Omega and Tissot were closer to each other both in marketing and in their offers.
Here is an example from 1968, an Italian Omega-Tissot catalogue. On the front is the Omega logo but also “carrusel” which was Tissot new model introduced at the 1968 Basel Watch Fair.

On the back is the Tissot logo and the back then, new Omega Chronostop.

Once inside the catalogue, even if Omega was on the front page, first the Tissot watches are presented…
Here an example, the Tissot Seastar Automatic, waterproof down to 120 meters. Price: L. 42000.

In the second half of the catalogue are the Omega watches…
Example, Omega Chronostop Jumbo, manual, waterproof down to 120 meters. Price: L. 45000.

Yes, presented together, similar offerings, similar price range…
The connection used to be much more evident than it is today!
Stay tuned for more connections…
