Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Vintage Chronograph

We all know the expression “gone but not forgotten”…

Back in 2012, the year after the introduction of the Tribute To Deep Sea Alarm, Jaeger-LeCoultre released a “in the spirit of” watch…

Looks based on the original Deep Sea Alarm but a chronograph.

In photos, I love this watch! Perfect proportions, beautiful balanced dial and great size, 40.5 mm.

Over the years I only let go of very few watches, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Vintage Chronograph is one of them… Others has mainly been pairs or triples that I at some point decided to split in favour for other watches.

What I really liked about this watch was the T.W.O register chronograph. Most modern have three sub-dials, but personally I prefer two, I find it more balanced.

Inside is the Calibre 751G, same as in the Master Chronograph with sector dial which is still in the current collection.

On the back the frogman with his spear…

Yes, this watch had it all but by some reason I let it go…

As said, in photos I love this watch, in wristshots it looks fantastic!

In the end I think the faux patina and the fact that it is a modern chronograph made me let it go…

But the biggest problem for me with this Deep Sea Vintage Chronograph was that when ever I wanted to wear a Deep Sea, my choice would be one of the original Deep Sea Alarm… So only time I would wear this watch would be out of guilt for neglecting it…
