Posted by I like to share another antimagnetic watch from Tissot, this time a pocket watch, the Tissot reference 700-2 Antimagnetique.
I know most watch collectors are not into pocket watches and I must confess that I am not deep into it either…
But once in a while I like to add some to the collection.
Like in this case, the Tissot 700-2 Antimagnetique.
A 46 mm in diameter stainless steel case, long beautiful leaf hands, applied numerals, big sub-seconds and… Antimagnetic!
The pocket watch is rather flat, only 9.5 mm thick including the domed crystal.
Inside is the Tissot Calibre 38.2 which were in production between 1933 and 1960. Based on the movement number, my pocket watch is from 1953.
The flat profile is possible due to the movement size, 38.16 mm in diameter and 4.25 mm thick.
Here is the Calibre specification: look at the big balance wheel… The long slender leaf hands…
Yes, I find it hard to resist – especially considering the price range!
