Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel

Posted by

For a long time I have been thinking that I am missing the Moon Phase complication in my collection…

At my recent trip to the Le Sentier I had the pleasure to see some options from the current collection, like this Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel.

Yes, the name is a mouth full… But once you see the watch you realise that it earned the name in full!

The Master DNA is very evident and even if it is not very easy to see in my photos, the white gold case is only just above one centimetre thick, 10.04 mm to be exact.

And the rest? Well, this dial is all about the blue Enamel in a radiant pattern and the Silver Moon – see for yourself: Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel

Lovely balance of the dial!

The thin hands and index, the minute track around the dial like a pearl necklace, the proportion of the Jaeger-LeCoultre logo and the size of the pointer date – large enough to read the date, small enough to give room to the Silver Moon with the night sky sprinkled with stars.

The long tradition of making Moon Phase watches shine through here!

For more than 70 years Jaeger-LeCoultre have been making wrist watches with the Moon Phase complication – like this one, the reference 2722 from an early 1950’s catalogue:

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel do not only have a very well balanced dial – the case is also pure elegance.

The thin multi-level bezel, the bevelled, curved lugs and the “hidden” pushers to adjust the Date and the Moon Phase…

Inside is the automatic movement Calibre 925/2.

Same here, the case back is multi-level which gives great comfort on the wrist, the oscillating weight in pink gold fills the opening on the case back in a good way – doesn’t make you feel like if the movement is too small for the case.

The Blue Enamel dial make this a very appealing option for a Moon Phase watch!

A big thank you to the Jaeger-LeCoultre team for letting me get to know this beauty!
